Job Summary :
Essential Duties may include the following, depending on the specifics of the position and relevant experience :
- Harvests cell cultures at optimum time sequence based on knowledge of cell cycle differences and culture conditions.
- Prepares slides of cell cultures, selects banding techniques, and stains slides to make chromosomes visible under a microscope.
- Performs analysis of G-banded or FISH slides in order to determine the presence of any structural abnormalities.
- Performs non-routine cytogenetic procedures as required.
- Ensures the quality assurance of laboratory equipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education :
Experience :
6 years' experience as cytogenetic technologist or relevant experience
