POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Porter/Banquet Set-Up
Reports To: Porter Manager
Position Summary: Responsible for preparing banquet rooms as assigned. Clean the banquet rooms, put away equipment, and assist with any other requests from quests or hotel staff in other departments.
Specific Duties:
- Set tables and chairs to meet function specifications
- Clean meeting space including, but not limited to, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping areas and washing walls before and after events
- Complete final breakdown of function by cleaning the room, and cleaning and returning equipment to its proper location
- Transport dirty linen to correct area to be cleaned and restock linen shelves with clean linens
- Set up, stock and maintain work areas
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
- Assist other departments when need to ensure optimum service to guests
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Comply with policies and procedures of the Baymont Inn.
Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience and Skills:
- Highly energetic, go-getter, motivated individual
- Willing to take initiative and work with little direction
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible Schedule
- Strong Problem-solving skills
Physical Demands:
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Must maintain a neat and professional appearance, upholding company appearance standards at all times
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 60 pounds without assistance
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
