Functional Analyst

Job Title: Functional Analyst – Lab Operations

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Duration: 6 Months with Possible extension

Pay Rate: $80 - $82/hr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to join our Santa Clara Lab Operations team. This position will support a wide range of cross-functional initiatives, playing a pivotal role in delivering impactful business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and delivery of functional solutions in an R&D environment.
• Collaborate closely with IT portfolio managers, project managers, and business stakeholders to define and implement product roadmaps.
• Work across cross-functional teams (analytics, design/UX, engineering, and user enablement) to deliver data-driven, customer-centric products.
• Translate business insights into actionable product features and requirements.
• Author and review Functional Specifications (FS) and ensure alignment with Business Process Documents (BPD) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
• Collaborate with technical architects and development teams to finalize technical designs.
• Oversee UAT planning, test case review, and execution in partnership with business users.
• Ensure proper change management and documentation practices are followed.
• Drive product development in an Agile environment, managing sprint backlogs, priorities, and risks.
• Define KPIs and monitor post-launch performance to inform future investment decisions.
• Support global business units across various time zones.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of functional analysts on multiple concurrent projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in product or project development, with a strong functional background.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional software or services projects from concept through launch.
• Experience in Agile development methodologies and sprint planning.
• Strong understanding of procurement, expense management, and treasury business processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive execution across teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business insights and outcomes.
• Experience delivering customer-facing solutions such as dashboards, APIs, or real-time alerts.
