PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Controller, the accountant is responsible for supporting the accounts payable clerk and accounting department.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The accountant reports directly to the Controller and works with department managers, supervisors and hospital staff as required. The position has no direct reporting employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepares 1099’s & W2’s
- Prepares bi-weekly FTE report & other payroll related reporting as assigned
- Accounts Payable support/backup
- Completes reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts monthly
- Reconciles fixed assets monthly, and record the appropriate depreciation, post additions
- Prepares and posts monthly journal entries as assigned
- Assists with annual audit and cost report
- Prepares quarterly sales tax returns, SUTA returns and 941’s
- Completes daily report of statistics
- Compiles month end and year end statistics for hospital and clinics
- Potentially assists with bank transaction approvals
- All other responsibilities as assigned and deemed necessary by the Controller/CFO.
- College graduate with a degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- 2-5 years’ work experience in public accounting, industry; healthcare industry preferred.
- Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
