Bayshore Properties is looking for a talented and reliable Property Maintenance Technician to join our team at 21 Kristin Apartments, a 357-unit apartment complex located in Schaumburg, Illinois - close to downtown Chicago and O'Hare International Airport. The ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades with a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience (apartment maintenance preferred) and HVAC experience (certification is recommended).
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Performs general mechanic repairs and replacements
- Completes general labor tasks and other duties as assigned
- Handles designated work orders and service requests in a timely manner
- Assists maintenance in maintaining a clean and orderly shop
- Knows when to escalate maintenance issues to management
- Maintains courteous and professional demeanor with residents, prospective residents, coworkers, and vendors
- Performs general cleaning and snow removal
- Works on-call, overtime, weekend, holiday, and evening work as required
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience, apartment maintenance experience preferred
- HVAC experience preferred
- Certified Pool Operator, a plus
- Display proficiency while performing day-to-day tasks, preventative maintenance, and work orders
- Must be team-oriented, dependable, resourceful, flexible and results-driven
- Must be well- organized with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license
Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lifts and carries up to 45 pounds; occasionally up to 80 pounds.
- Pushes and/or pulls (appliances) using appliance dolly up to 200 pounds
- Moves objects from one floor to another
- Frequently bends/stoops, climbs stairs, kneels, balances, reaches above shoulder height, walks and twists
- Has normal range of vision, hearing and speech
