Intermediate Programmer
- Experience Level: 2-5 years
- Skills Required: Proficient in CAD software, ability to develop more complex designs, and understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and material properties.
- Responsibilities: Designing components and assemblies, writing and optimizing CNC programs, and collaborating with other departments on product development.
- Supervision Required: Works with moderate supervision, expected to handle more complex tasks and provide input on design improvements.
Programming Knowledge
Proficient in G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM programming for CNC machines, with the ability to modify and optimize programs.
Mechanical Design
Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design, creating mechanical components and assemblies.
Blueprint & Drawing Creation
Creates detailed 2D/3D technical drawings, models, and assembly instructions for fabrication and machining.
Machine Setup & Operation
Independently sets up and runs CNC machines, adjusts programs, and troubleshoots minor issues.
Material Knowledge
Proficient in selecting appropriate materials for designs and manufacturing processes.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Applies DFM principles to design parts and assemblies that are efficient, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
Problem Solving & Innovation
Proactively identifies design and programming challenges and resolves them with innovative solutions.
Simulation & Testing
Uses simulation tools to verify designs, run stress analyses, and optimize machine programs.
Communication Skills
Regularly communicates with project managers, engineers, and machine operators to clarify design and programming details.
Project Management
Manages multiple design and programming projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Actively participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and certification programs to enhance job-related skills and knowledge, as required.
- Suggest improvements to the manufacturing process or machine operations to increase productivity and quality.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required to support the team's goals and maintain efficient operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit for extended periods while using a computer, performing data entry, and handling paperwork, with occasional walking throughout the office and production areas.
· Occasionally lift and carry materials such as files or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, and perform repetitive hand movements like typing and using a mouse.
· Maintain focus and visual acuity for reading documents, computer screens, and detailed reports, while communicating clearly in person, over the phone, and via email.
