Health Services Analyst II (Build, Outpatient/Inpatient Access)
W2 Contract-to-Hire
Salary Range: $166,400 - $187,200 per year
Location: Martinez, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Health Services Analyst with EPIC Systems module experience, specifically Prelude, Cadence, and Grand Central.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement applications to support the internal/external customer.
- Coordinate major aspects of the project.
- Meet with clients to document and define requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Define integration of systems and processes as needed within the scope of the project.
- Follow the defined IS project methodology.
- Plan and implement courses of action to achieve department and service goals.
- Document all aspects of the project and process.
- Create and maintain project plans and coordinate steps to meet implementation and/or upgrade schedules.
- Develop system modification/replacement proposals, including cost-benefit analysis and resource requirements.
- Coordinate and perform activities to meet department/customer service goals.
- Track and report problems to vendors and follow-up/resolution to customers.
- Define application issues/bugs to vendors and maintain logs of open issues through resolution.
- Define and perform primary testing of enhancement/upgrades before release to users.
- Update customer, vendor, and management on project progress.
- Coordinate and implement processes to validate achievement to meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Develop testing plans for all changes/upgrades to ensure performance and maintenance of data integrity.
- Propose comprehensive solutions to complex problems, including technical and business aspects.
- Ensure timely communication of all changes to internal/external customers and department management.
- Provide objective assessments of implementation quality, documenting sources of error and "lessons learned."
- Demonstrate innovative analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Accurate and comprehensive view of the system under review and all interfaces.
- Derive a comprehensive solution set and cost/benefit comparisons, and present all feasible options.
- Present rationale for recommendation and can defend in an objective and collaborative manner.
- Propose comprehensive options for solutions to complex problems, including both technical and business aspects.
- Work with internal analysts and technical staff to conceptualize function, data structures, and best fit, and creates functional specifications to meet customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain training environments and materials and provide role-based education (classroom setting, handouts, e-learning, etc.).
- Facilitate communication between customers and all internal/external support resources and perform other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate and deliver education based on the scope of services.
- Actively maintains knowledge of "best practice" and current advances in Healthcare and Information Technology.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the production environment, rationale for the current state, and ability to accurately assess risk and/or options.
- Provide and promote excellence in customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Develop and maintain training environments and materials and provide role-based education (classroom setting, handouts, e-learning, etc.).
- Facilitate communication between customers and all internal/external support resources and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited clinical specialty program
- 3 years of full-time or equivalent system analysis experience in a healthcare information systems environment, working with end users to extract, document, and optimize data flow, implement hospital systems, and support applications and databases.
- 2 years of full-time or equivalent professional experience in a clinical specialty or allied health discipline in either a hospital, clinic, medical facility or dental office
- Project management experience as a technical or application team lead for a major complex project or direct experience as a project manager for smaller projects.
- A current Epic certification may be substituted for required systems experience.
