Position Summary:
The Senior Benefits & Leave Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees by overseeing both leave management and benefits administration. This position is instrumental in managing leave programs, supporting employees through complex leave processes, and administering comprehensive benefits programs to enhance engagement and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and administration of the company’s leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, parental leave, and other company-sponsored leave policies.
- Serve as the primary resource for employees and managers, providing clear guidance on leave policies, eligibility, and return-to-work processes.
- Partner with external leave administrators, HR Business Partners, and payroll to ensure accurate and timely leave processing.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, monitoring legislative updates and recommending policy changes as needed.
- Track and analyze leave trends to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Educate employees on leave options and support them throughout the leave lifecycle to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), life insurance, disability plans, COBRA, and voluntary benefits.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, ensuring a positive employee experience.
- Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in coordination with HRIS and payroll.
- Conduct new hire benefits orientations and ongoing employee education to maximize benefits utilization.
- Work closely with vendors and brokers to resolve escalated benefits issues and maintain strong relationships with external partners.
- Support the annual Open Enrollment process, including system testing, employee communications, and post-enrollment audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits trends and compliance requirements, recommending enhancements that align with business goals.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of benefits-related materials, including intranet updates, guides, and FAQs.
- 5-7 years of experience in benefits and leave administration, preferably within a corporate HR environment.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and HRIS systems (UltiPro, ADP, or similar preferred).
- Proven ability to interpret complex benefits and leave policies and communicate them effectively to employees and leadership.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on providing exceptional employee support.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience working in a multi-state environment, with knowledge of varying state leave laws a plus.
- This role will be based in Bayview’s Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, or can be remote
- This role will be hybrid, three days in-office or fully remote
- Base compensation is expected to be $75,000 - 90,000* with the opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus compensation.
- Salary may vary based on work experience, market conditions, location, and qualifications/training.
