Requirements:The right person will work with the Safety team to promote the organization's safety programs. Assists in the development, implementation, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures. Must be aware of federal, state, and local safety laws to ensure the organization complies with all regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Periodic inspections of all types of motorized vehicles, when auditing onsite
- This will require traveling out of state up to 20% of time and the ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time.
- Ensure compliance with Federal & various State(s) regulations
- Assist with conducting investigations into employee inquiries, near misses, suggestions, and complaints
- Maintain required safety and health documents/files
- Assist in updating Company safety policies
- Keep OSHA logs up to date
- Coordinate incident investigation and corrective actions
- Assist in developing, improving, and maintaining Company safety programs
- Assist in improving Company safety culture
- Coordinate and conduct training on safety, Company policies, and procedures
- Manage and log safety required inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Assist during 3rd party (Customer, OSHA, DOT, DNR, etc.) audits/inspections
- Perform job duties in compliance with the policies and procedures of the department and Company
- Respect the confidentiality of information learned through one’s employment
- Demonstrate adaptability to change and work in different environments
- Attend educational and Company-related meetings and share learnings/experience with others
- Process and follow up with worker’s compensation claims
- Conduct onsite safety audits/inspections for divisions as assigned (currently across the US and Canada but may expand)
- Assist in DOT score tracking and Driver Check observation reports Maintain Driver Medical Card Updates
- Perform various other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in a Safety related job or education in safety or related field, required
- Experience working in manufacturing/warehouse related safety operations, preferred
- Experience working in a multi-location company, preferred
- Valid driver license/driving record that is acceptable by Company’s insurance carrier, required
- Ability to travel out of state 10-20% of time
- Experience with DOT compliance
- Experience with worker’s compensation claims handling and management
- OSHA Certification (10 Hour/30 Hour)
