Summary : Works with the Safety team to promote the organization's safety programs. Assists in the development, implementation, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures. Must be aware of federal, state, and local safety laws to ensure the organization complies with all regulations. The position requires travel to various company sites to conduct safety audits, training and inspections.
Responsibilities :
- Travel to Company facilities across the U.S. and Canada to conduct onsite inspections of facilities, equipment, various types of vehicles, as well as to conduct training
This will require traveling out of state / overnight stays up to 20% of time and the ability to stand and walk for several hours at a time.
Ensure compliance with Federal & various State(s) regulationsAssist with conducting investigations or reviews into employee safety incidents, inquiries, near misses, suggestions, and complaintsMaintain required safety documents / filesAssist in updating Company safety policiesKeep OSHA logs up to dateParticipate with team in developing, improving, maintaining and implementing safety policies, programs and procedures for compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsAssist in promoting Company safety cultureCoordinate and conduct training on safety policies and proceduresManage and log safety required inspections of vehicles and equipmentAssist during 3rd party (Customer, OSHA, DOT, DNR, etc.) audits / inspectionsPerform job duties in compliance with the policies and procedures of the department and CompanyRespect the confidentiality of information learned through one’s employmentDemonstrate adaptability to change and work in different environmentsAttend educational and Company-related meetings and share learnings / experience with othersProcess and follow up on worker’s compensation claimsTrack DOT score, Driver Check observation reports, and Driver Medical Card to maintain up to date filesPerform various other duties as assignedQualifications :
Two years of experience in a Safety related job or education in safety or related field, requiredExperience working in manufacturing / warehouse related safety operations, preferredExperience working in a multi-location company, preferredValid driver license / driving record that is acceptable by Company’s insurance carrier, requiredAbility to travel out of state 10-20% of timeAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesExperience with DOT complianceExperience with worker’s compensation claims handling and managementOSHA Certification (10 Hour / 30 Hour)Company Summary : With a deep-rooted expertise in building materials, the Bay Family of Companies excels in producing and distributing a wide range of commercial, industrial, fabricated, and metal building insulation products.
