Bayview United Homecare Services is hiring experienced caregivers throughout Southern Maryland to provide non-medical support and companionship to clients in their homes. This role is focused on improving the quality of life for clients by offering social interaction, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and collaborates with other team members to provide holistic care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage clients in conversation, games, and other activities to encourage social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Accompany clients on walks, outings, and appointments as needed.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Help clients with daily routines, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and organizing their personal space.
- Ensure the client’s living environment is safe, comfortable, and conducive to their well-being.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional condition, reporting any changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by the client’s care plan.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of client interactions and activities.
- Provide transportation for clients to and from appointments, social events, and errands, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel.
- Assist with mobility, helping clients move safely and comfortably from one location to another, whether it's walking, transferring between positions, or using mobility aids
- Maintain open and respectful communication with clients, their families, and the Bayview United Homecare Services team.
- Participate in care team meetings to discuss client progress and any concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Previous experience as a caregiver/CNA/PCA/GNA is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, compassionate and patient demeanor, and ability to engage clients in meaningful activities.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check, negative TB screening test, and physical examination
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain upon hire
- Understanding of elderly care practices and the ability to provide non-medical support tailored to individual client needs.

LOCATION: Tri-County and Southern PG County
SCHEDULE: Shifts vary from 4-, 6- and 8-hours during Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings and Weekends
PAY: DOE ($16.00-17.50 per hour)
