Job Title: Youth Cheerleading Instructor - After School Program (Elementary Schools)

Job Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Cheerleading Instructor to lead after-school cheerleading sessions for elementary school students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cheerleading, experience working with children, and the ability to create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment. As a Cheerleading Instructor, you will teach cheerleading fundamentals, cheer routines, and teamwork while helping students develop confidence and physical skills in a supportive after-school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead age-appropriate cheerleading activities and routines, including chants, stunts, jumps, and dances.
- Teach the basic skills of cheerleading, such as basic jumps, cheers, motions, stunts, and tumbling (if applicable).
- Organize and choreograph simple cheer routines for performances or events, allowing students to showcase what they’ve learned.
- Supervise and engage with children during cheerleading sessions, ensuring safety and maintaining an energetic, fun atmosphere.
- Plan and execute weekly lesson plans that align with the developmental needs and skill levels of the students.
- Foster teamwork, cooperation, and positive social interactions among participants, helping them build confidence both individually and as part of a group.
- Effectively communicate with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Provide positive reinforcement and constructive feedback to help students develop their skills.
- Address any behavior or safety concerns in a calm, professional manner.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during practice and performances, following proper safety protocols for stunting and tumbling.
- Set up and break down cheerleading equipment (e.g., mats, cones) before and after each session.
- Maintain a clean and organized space for cheer practice, ensuring that all equipment is safely stored.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in sports, cheerleading, or teaching environments.
- Strong understanding of basic cheerleading skills, including motions, jumps, chants, stunts, and routines.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate cheerleading drills and activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Patience and the ability to work with children of varying skill levels.
- Ability to foster teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check and work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Compensation:
- $45.00 - $55.00 per hour, based on experience and performance.
- Paid per session.
