The Systems Business Analyst Sr. is responsible for ensuring business requests are reviewed, analyzed, and effectively communicated to the development team. The Systems Business Analyst Sr. will work with business partners, clients, and prospective clients to design solutions on eFront for their illiquid fund structures. The Systems Business Analyst Sr. will implement and oversee a training program for both analysts and developers to deepen the organization’s knowledge of the FrontInvest platform. They will also play a significant role in communicating issues to support teams and IT Management. This is a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with Business and Application teams. He/She will participate in strategic projects in support of the department objectives: Standardization of eFront Invest and Data/Reporting solution design around eFront Invest and DWH.
Responsibilities:
Management
- Systems Lead for strategic projects related to eFront Invest platform: Standardization and Data/Reporting solution design.
- Establishes and maintain a culture of exceptional client service.
- Build strong relationships with all systems support teams to promote problem solving, innovation, and efficient troubleshooting for the end user community.
- Conduct regularly scheduled team meetings, to ensure the team is current on new technology, procedures and system changes.
Analysis/Design
- Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, ERD modelling, reporting specifications…
- Review and triage business requests and guide analysts to come up with solutions.
- Work with business teams, clients and prospective clients to come up with solutions to their processing needs.
- Understand the data and reporting gaps / challenges the Alternatives teams currently have and propose solutions to improve the process while mainly focusing on reducing the time-to-market for the delivery of new reports and encouraging self-service reporting solutions.
- Lead data related projects and participate in the different phases from requirements gathering to solution designing, development and testing.
- Become the team’s key person for all new requests regarding data connectivity queries and initiatives.
- Facilitate the self-service data consumption from the eFront platform through user friendly and end-to-end solutions compliant with the bank’s reporting strategy. Clear guidance, support and documentation will need to be provided for the different counterparties extracting data from eFront.
- Ensure a high quality of data and accuracy for the different implemented solutions and datasets.
Technical
- Assist with application configuration on critical projects
- Guide the developers through the build process
- Continually develop and review operational documentation, procedures and standards to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
Education level and/or relevant experience(s):
- BA/BS Information Technology or relevant experience.
- 5 years of experience working on systems development projects ideally related to Alternatives funds
- Strong background on eFront platform and products (eFront Invest, DWH, ICX)
- Strong analytical and design skills with great written and oral communications skills
- Working knowledge of relational databases and data modeling with experience in writing SQL queries (views, procedures, functions…).
- Business Intelligence/Reporting working knowledge with ability to build customized complex data solutions.
- Knowledge of one or more BI platforms as Alteryx, Cognos, Tableau or alike.
- Basic business knowledge from Accounting, Transfer Agency or Custody in the Alternatives Funds domain.
- Experience with Client Service-related functions.
Knowledge and skills (general and technical):
- Experience working with configurable Vendor products (including eFront Invest and DWH)
- Basic knowledge of mainframe and distributed software tools
- Knowledge of standard desktop tools, such as Microsoft Office suite and Lotus Notes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – Fluency in English.
- Experience meeting deadlines and service deliverables
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required)
- Strong background on eFront’s FrontInvest platform a must (as Fund Administrator)
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn new things
