What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personnel Security Specialist I position at BBNCALLJOBSROLLUP?
TSI Federal is currently seeking a Personnel Security Specialist I in the Washington D.C. area to support the Department of Justice/Office of Justice Programs (DOJ/OJP).
Receive, review and distribute all personnel security related correspondence consisting of respective security forms, fingerprint cards, OF 306, DOJ 555, Justice Security Tracking and Adjudication Record System (JSATRS) printouts, Loyalty Statement, Foreign Born Relatives and/or Associates Statement, Confidentiality Agreement and any other forms required to process the subject for access to DOJ information, Space and/or IT Systems.
Create electronic cases, and upload all appropriate documents relating to specific cases into the Justice Security Tracking and Adjudication Record System (JSTARS).
Scan fingerprint cards into the Live Scan system or capture subject fingerprints in person.
Process requests for additional information on security packages and follow up on correspondence received.
Utilize the Office of Personnel Management Electronic Questionnaires for Investigative Processing (eQIP) system to review security forms for HRD/PSB subjects and upload them to JSTARS.
File, categorize, classify and retrieve program related materials and technical documents in JSTARS.
Generate credit reports on PSB subjects.
Prepare memoranda, reports and other personnel security documents, and analyze monthly data reports for system integrity.
Properly safeguard Privacy Act Protected Information, Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Classified National Security Information.
Assist HRD/PSB in making pre-employment waiver recommendations.
Review ROIs from OPM to make an adjudicative recommendation to PSB’s federal staff.
Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in human resources, personnel security or an investigative analyst field.
Demonstrated experience in conducting security related background checks, adjudications, managing physical security IT systems and/or interpreting local agency checks and credit reports.
Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
