JOB SUMMARY
The training coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Department Head of Training. This (position) is responsible for supporting and oversight of all training and development for personnel. The coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring proper training has been provided to all groups and that technical skills related to the training requirements for their job area(s) are appropriate and compliant with the quality program.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Onboarding New hires.
Identifies, schedules, and coordinates training sessions for personnel under the request and guidance of the head of Training and Development. Where applicable, requests may come from supervisors / managers. This training course can be scheduled with approval by the head of Training and Development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Responsible for training personnel including husbandry and technical training, conducting skill proficiency assessments, maintaining training documentation including data entry, and providing feedback to the Manager of Training and Development as well as supervisors / managers of the trainees.
Coordinating training session dates and times with the assistance of managers, schedulers, and trainees themselves.
Orders appropriate materials and supplies for the training program, as applicable.
Prepares all documentation required for the training session (e.g. Attendance Records, Training Document Records).
Provides timely electronic updates to Training database(s) and Training files to ensure compliance with company policy.
Communicates training session results, as applicable.
Assists with the maintenance of training records.
May assist with the review of company standard operating procedures.
Complies with all regulatory guidelines, occupational health as well as health and safety programs, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Performs all other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
At least 2 years’ related experience required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong adult teaching skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Proof of measles vaccination or updated titers prior to initial contact with animals.
Current results of TB testing or be tested prior to initial contact with animals. Annual tuberculosis screening is required of all employees.
Employees may occasionally need to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate facility equipment.
Required to shower into barrier animal facilities and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in each area as described by SOPs.
Has the ability to withstand ambient temperatures which may exceed 90°ree;F.
Personnel must be able to carry out the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Potential exposure to disinfectants, chemicals, biologics, infectious agents (BSL1, BSL2), animal dander, and dust.
Normal scientific laboratory conditions may work with hazardous materials and unpleasant odors.
