Systems Analyst I

Plan, develop, test and implement IT system solutions that improve business efficiency and productivity as well as support business strategies and goals. Identify and communicate business needs and translate business requirements into technical system and functional specifications. Support one or more low to moderately complex business processes/systems for one business unit. Serve as a project team member for projects of small to medium scope and moderately complex or sub-projects within a large or highly complex projects.

Participate in business short-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals, direction and business requirements; provide input from an IT systems perspective. Provide data on cost projections for own work. Serve as a liaison between business areas and the IT organization and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address user needs. Translate business requirements into technical requirements. Formulate and define system scope and objective based on user needs and understanding of business processes. Develop, write, and communicate systems design, functional system specifications and functional architecture analysis. Develop user and/or system test cases and validate test results during testing, as needed. Document system modifications. Support/develop system manuals. Support and may develop system enhancement communication. Identify, investigate, resolve and escalate problems as needed. Gather data to support recommendations to address problems. Procure technical assistance to help in problem resolution. Work closely with developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction, as needed. Provide assistance in business case development (i.e., research, data collection, systems), as needed. Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies. Ensure understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and impact of work on the achievement of the service levels. Support achievement of SLAs. Other duties as assigned.

"Qualifications"

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• One (1) year of relevant system solution development, testing and implementation work experience required.

• Knowledge of business operations, systems requirements and IT processes.
• Ability to work independently, or within a team environment.
• Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.

Departmental Preferences:

• Three (3) years’ experience with claims processing on NASCO processing system (NPS) platform for all lines of business is preferred.
• Previous experience preparing/executing test plans and product development within the NPS platform is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical, Benefit and Payment Policy is preferred.
• NASCO 3270 mainframe experience & system knowledge is preferred.
• Experience in BFM/BFAST environment & testing is preferred.
• Knowledge of JIRA & Confluence in support of CSR creation, updates & development is preferred.
• Good medical and facility claims processing knowledge is preferred.
• Previous experience preparing/executing test plans and product development within the NPS platform is preferred.
• Self-starter with the ability to read/interpret Benefit File code, GENO tables, Procedure & Diagnosis Files is preferred.
• Self-disciplined with the flexibility to effectively handle multiple roles and responsibilities and work drivers is preferred.
• Knowledge of business operations, systems requirements, and configuration processes is preferred.
• Ability to understand/interpret business documents and develop requirements for new/existing products is preferred.
