About the role:
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role you will work along-side your teammates and with clients to ensure each event is placed in a top-notch location at the best possible price. You are an experience negotiator who understands the value of long-lasting relationships with hotel/venue partners. Sound like you? Read on!
- Understand the differences of Virtual/Hybrid/Live program execution
- Work with your peers and clients to understand meeting/event goals, flow and space requirements. Send RFPs to properties and venues that will be a great fit and field responses. You have a solid understanding of US cities and have experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Vet viable supplier options and make appropriate recommendations. Prepare presentations as applicable. Be consultative in your approach.
- Use your existing contacts and build new relationships with clients, vendors, NSMs, CVBs and sales teams.
- Negotiate the best deals for our clients. Understand client needs, procurement practices, norms and expectations. Ensure no detail is left out.
- Be nimble, problem solve and get creative. After all, the venue can make or break the event (and budget!).
- Managing multiple priorities and being adaptable. You have exceptional problem-solving skills, are calm under pressure and work well in a collaborative environment.
- Teamwork. It takes a village.
- Establishing long lasting, professional relationships with clients, co-workers and vendors.
- Virtual platform experience including WebEx, Veracast and ON24
- Cvent, Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Providing superior customer service.
- A college degree from a 4- year institution.
- 3 years in a venue procurement, purchasing or venue sourcing role
- This role is virtual
- Our standard working hours are 8:30 AM -5:30 PM with an hour break.
- Covid vaccination might be required for this role.
