This is a part-time Remote Position.
Education: Required - Master’s degree from an accredited university, in one of the following areas: Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or another related human services field.

Experience: Required 2 years’ experience providing direct counseling services. Some experience in providing tele-mental health services.
Preferred - 1 year of experience working with survivors of family violence and/or dating violence.
Licenses: LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, or LMSW.
LMSW clinicians must be actively pursuing LCSW licensure, receiving external supervision by a board approved supervisor.
Summary: This position is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in crises situations while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards.

Essential Functions:
- Offers telehealth counseling services from a confidential space, free of distraction.
- Assesses personal mental health needs of clients residing in Val Verde and Kinney Counties in Texas; helps to meet those needs by providing counseling services and referrals.
- Implements Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Seeking Safety with teens and adults, through individual and group counseling.
- Carries a client load as allowed by budgetary restraints.
- Develops detailed Individual Treatment Plans for each client and regularly assesses progress, providing updates the Treatment Plan as needed.
- Maintains timely and accurate file documentation and data entry that meets the program requirements.
- Assists with operating a 24-hour crisis hotline.
- Assists with outreach events and special events as needed, when appropriate.
- Manages assigned projects.
- Facilitate in-service trainings as needed, to educate staff on BCFS HHS policy and procedure and/or counseling related topics.
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the Program Director and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
- Meet all deadlines required by Program Director or state/federal partners.
- Maintains own schedule of counseling sessions, peer support groups, special events, and outreach events.
- Identifies and maintains professional relationships with clients and community partners.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service trainings, and case consultations if required for contract needs.
- Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.
- Maintains confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
- Maintains BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Meets all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
- Completes client intake assessment; analyzes to determine client needs and Treatment Plan goals and objectives.
- Develops, monitors, and reviews with each participant, an action plan designed to increase strengths and address psychological and emotional needs.
- Assists in providing information for all files and program documentation, including, quarterly and monthly reports, data entry and other documentation or reports as needed, with accuracy and timeliness.
- Finds local (Val Verde County and Kinney County) community resources to meet additional client needs.
- Prepares presentations and/or trainings to support the delivery of psychoeducational topics.
- Coordinates/participates in outreach events in the community as assigned.
- Enters required information into database for all clients within 72 hours of contact and submits monthly reports as specified by Program Director.
- Compiles, prepares, submits, and maintains accurate records, files, forms, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing, and/or contract requirements.
- Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to:
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug screens and always maintain emotional control and professional composure.
- Provides proof or work eligibility status upon request.
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
- Demonstrates the ability to:
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
