The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload and independently handle courtroom proceedings, including divorce trials. This role requires an attorney who thrives in a structured office environment and is prepared to deliver exceptional legal representation.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle a caseload of approximately 20-30 active cases, with a significant focus on family law matters.
Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial negotiations, courtroom proceedings, and post-judgment matters.
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
Manage client communications, providing legal counsel and strategic guidance tailored to each case.
Advocate for clients in divorce trials and other family law disputes, ensuring effective legal strategies are implemented.
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and meet court deadlines.
Maintain accurate case records and comply with legal and ethical standards.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years of litigation experience, with direct involvement in trial proceedings.
Proven ability to independently handle divorce trials and related family law cases.
Strong understanding of New Jersey family law statutes, court procedures, and case precedents.
Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills, with the ability to present compelling arguments in court.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively oversee multiple cases.
Ability to provide compassionate and professional legal counsel to clients navigating complex family matters.
Education & Certifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the state of New Jersey, in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional litigation experience beyond the minimum requirement.
Prior experience in handling a high-volume caseload efficiently.
