Job Overview : A law firm seeks a highly experienced Litigation Of Counsel to join its team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive litigation experience, particularly in product liability and complex commercial litigation, with additional expertise in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors considered advantageous.
Duties :
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
Supervise and mentor associates in litigation matters.
Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies.
Assist in fact development and conduct depositions.
Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
Contribute to the formulation of case strategies.
Requirements :
Minimum 8 years of litigation experience, ideally from an AmLaw 100 firm.
Proven track record in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical device industries preferred.
Strong analytical and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent business judgment and organizational abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking.
Ability to influence and persuade others effectively.
Education and Certifications :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized institution.
Additional degrees such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology are advantageous.
Licensed to practice law in New York; admission to practice in Illinois required.
