Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Aides to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support in various capacities, particularly in the areas of client care and behavioral therapy. This role is essential for ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality of care and support, especially those with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. The Behavioral Aide will work closely with healthcare professionals, clients, contract representatives, and families to facilitate effective treatment plans and enhance overall client well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of behavioral programs tailored for children and individuals with including those with mental and developmental disabilities.
- Conduct client assessments to determine needs and progress in treatment program.
- Maintain accurate notes and documentation of client interactions and behaviors and with strategies to improve, encourage or support.
- Support client care by gathering relevant information and assisting, healthcare professionals as needed.
- Provide direct client care, ensuring comfort and safety during assignments and sessions.
- Utilize proper methods, effectively in communication and documentation with team members and contract representatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care strategies for clients.
- Engage with clients using applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behaviors.
- Engage in therapeutic techniques as instructed to assist patients in achieving their goals.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Effective communication within the behavioral care setting.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles is a plus.
- Strong skills in client assessment, note documentation and care practices are required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, DFCS and team members.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Minimum HS Diploma/GED & 5 years human services experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (no human services experience required)
