The Role
This role will oversee various projects and manage external partner execution of written word to elevate, integrate and maintain a high standard of communication throughout the company. The role will be responsible for proposing, determining, and managing written content for Burke’s marketing materials and supporting marketing efforts to assist our representatives in growing the Burke brand. When successfully completed, this will result in stronger brand equity, improved audience engagement, and increased sales of Burke products.
This role reports to the Director of Marketing and will collaborate with the marketing team, retained external contractors, and key cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll successfully rock this role by:
- Influence consumers emotional connection with Burke brand and products.
- Establish and integrate written communication standards throughout Burke, building impact for all communications and marketing efforts.
- Write, acquire, edit, and distribute written communications that will broaden customer awareness and perception of Burke and its products, including oversight of development for key printed and digital publications.
- Articulate and demonstrate the Play that Moves You brand position via written word content across digital and print channels.
- Assist with sales presentations and customer meetings as needed
- Collaborate to create a documented brand voice
- Working from creative briefs, team with designers to develop and execute concepts for major product and marketing initiatives.
- Partner with clients and colleagues to identify business objectives and ensure that creative solutions are on strategy—effectively explaining the creative strategy behind major marketing campaigns.
- Manage internal communications for Burkies to build awareness, sense of connectedness and brand loyalty.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing samples, including product marketing, digital
- Maintain knowledge of industry and marketing communications trends and incorporate new ideas into company's process and procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications That Move Us!
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ professional experience with roles in marketing or communications
- 2 years of progressive advertising, communications or creative writing preferred
- Track record of accomplishment in cross-functional endeavors
- Strong editing and writing skills, thorough knowledge of AP Style
- Experience in working with outside resources (freelance writers, PR professionals, etc.)
- Ability to create long- and short-term work calendars and to meet deadlines.
- Creative, decisive, collaborative, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes.
- Skills to support a wide variety of assignments, including catalogs, blogs, email content, website copy, sell sheets, press materials, and advertising copy.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing samples, including digital.
