Our publicly traded international client is seeking a Lead Accounting Specialist who will play an integral role in assisting with complex joint venture activities in the US and various other geographic locations.

About the Role:
- Champion & drive process improvement initiatives to improve team efficiency & global standardization
- Develop and establish new processes related to company new business enterprise
- Plan, Design and execute new ERP system structures to support sell-downs and onboarding JV partners across multiple entities
- Manage multiple JV partner processes with varying agreements and JOA terms
- To provide accounting, financial stewardship, control, oversight and standard-setting for key Joint Venture processes
- Responsible for complex joint venture activities in US and various other geographic locations
- Tracking, following up and collaborate with various internal teams on outstanding receivables and JV audit issues
- Process prior period audit adjustments
- In collaboration with Business Partners identify opportunities for enhancing cost recovery under the Joint Operating Agreement
- Support ongoing audits and litigation information requests
- Ensure compliance with Global Petroleum accounting policy as it relates to joint venture accounting
- Respond to ad hoc Business Partner queries
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting for Oil and Gas exploration and production activities including midstream activities and LNG businesses
- Demonstrated experience working in either an SAP (or similar large ERP system) general ledger, business warehouse and consolidation system environment. Understanding of and experience in working with various sub-systems that feed the Joint Venture systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain optimal customer and stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical skills with focus on accuracy, validation and problem solving.
- Advanced MS Excel skills to be able to work efficiently and effectively using large volumes of data.
- Proven ability to operate in a deadline driven environment.
- Track record of championing process improvements.
- Motivated self-starter with ownership mentality of role and curiosity of impacts both before and after involvement.
