Job Description
The Accounting/Finance Associate will be responsible for working closely with the organizational leaders on business across all U.S. territories. You’ll be well versed in underwriting and analysis of cyber policies across various industry sectors ranging from SME to mid-market and large accounts, as well as having the ability to support and coordinate business development.Requirements
What you'll do:
- Analyze competitive market strategies through analysis of the related products, markets, or share trends.
- Day to day general ledger posting
- Cash postings of receivables and payable balances
- Month end closeout activities
- Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action.
- Collect business intelligence data from available industry reports and field reports.
- Identify and analyze industry trends with business strategy implications.
- Analyze technology trends to identify future product development.
- Ensure BDI trust account is in position (ie cash receivables =/> payable to market)
- Use QuickBooks to match premium dashboard to income estimator and provide principals with updated financials about state of business
- Generate requests on ad hoc basis for other reporting metrics
- Reconcile payment borderau's that come in from various brokers and carriers to ensure that
- we are being paid for premiums placed and receivables are being collected
- Reconcile payments that go out the door to markets to ensure that the payable section
- of the balance sheet is compliant
- Monitor expenses and oversee posting of all expenses the firm incurs
- Oversee all income the firm generates from all program and reinsurance business to
- ensure the firm is being properly compensated for commission and fees
- Work with accountants to answer questions regarding BDI’s financials and assist
- in preparation of company taxes.
