Position: Director of Finance
Role Summary
We’re looking for a Director of Finance to lead the finance and accounting functions of a hospitality concept. This position works closely with the CFO to shape and execute financial strategy, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while guiding a small internal team across Finance, AP, and Payroll.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution—balancing long-term vision with the details that keep things running daily. You’ll be a key voice in leadership discussions and help foster a culture of accountability, growth, and financial clarity.

Your Core Responsibilities:
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash positions across all business entities
- Maintain and update rolling cash flow forecasts
- Approve bi-weekly payment runs and assist with investment planning alongside the CFO
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee monthly close process and reporting for leadership, sales, ops, and stakeholders
- Guide accounting staff on cash activity reconciliations
- Prepare timely and accurate reporting for internal use and ad-hoc analysis
- Leverage Restaurant365 for reporting, payables, and vendor relations
Operational Finance Oversight
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and payroll
- Manage insurance policies and entity-specific licensing
Planning & Budgeting
- Lead the annual budget cycle across entities
- Perform rolling reforecasts to keep pace with real-time changes
- Drive process improvements that lead to stronger financial performance
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a three-person finance team (Bookkeeper, AP Manager, Payroll Manager)
- Step in as backup for Payroll and AP when needed
- Create a learning-oriented, high-performing finance culture
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA or CPA a plus)
- 8–10 years of finance or accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Background in financial modeling
- Restaurant industry experience preferred
- Comfortable closing the books quickly and accurately
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving instincts
- Track record of managing financial operations, labor, and planning costs
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
- Excellent communicator who can motivate teams and drive results
Location & Travel Expectations
- Role requires at least 1 day of on-site presence weekly, with a preference for 2 in-office days—even if working across other projects or clients.
