The logistics Analyst position will be responsible for directly supporting the Client Relations & Business Intelligence Department with varying responsibilities. Responsible for working with customers on their shipping needs and guidance with different common carriers to handle transportation. Communicate directly with carriers, customers, vendors, and internal management to ensure a reliable high service level and resolve daily transportation-related issues. The logistics Analyst will also assist with carrier claims issues, special projects, and ad-hoc reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for obtaining the most updated pricing agreement between freight carriers and our customers. Interpret the pricing agreement and accurately input the data into contract management software.
- Track and maintain pricing agreement tasks in a project management tool.
- Manage correspondence and professional relationships with freight carriers and customers.
- Demonstrate competency in evaluating operational gaps and in inefficiencies in day-to-day operational performance.
- Provide carrier compliance, root cause analysis, and shipment problem resolution.
- Assist in booking, entering, and tracing loads (PICKUP & DELIVERY Confirmation, calling carrier to trace shipments) and spot quote Requests from customers in other modes of transportation.
- Managing customer accounts: tracking and tracing shipments & and deliveries contacting carriers to receive updates/PODs, and resolving any shipping issues.
- Answering phones & email; ability to work both independently and with a team; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Assistance in special projects
- Assisting clients and investigating carrier claims processing & issues
- Effortlessly transition between working autonomously and collaboratively with vendors, carriers, clients & internal departments
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher preferred or 2-3 years of experience in Logistics or Transportation industry
- Experience with project management tools
- Experience with Microsoft Suite applications
- Experience with TMS is a plus
- Experience with claim management is a plus.
