Be a Problem Solver Services is hiring for a Part-time licensed child and adolescent mental health counselor.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work or Marriage and Family Counseling
- Current Full or Associate level license (LCSW, LFMT or LCMHC) in North Carolina
- Must have current professional liability insurance in good standing.
Requirements:
- Credentialed with BCBS, United, Cigna, Aetna (or willing to be credentialed)
- Prior experience and knowledge of therapeutic approaches for neurodiverse children and adolescents.
- Must be willing to work during after-school time ranges into the evening at least two days per week.
- Experience or knowledge of play therapy preferred
About Us:
We are a warm and energetic practice seeing kids, young adults, and adults. Our practice has two locations: Chapel Hill and Fuquay-Varina, NC, so we tend to get many college student and family referrals. We are dedicated to providing quality mental health and executive functioning therapy to children, adolescents, families, and adults in Southern Wake County and Orange County. We have a special focus on children and adolescents, neurodiverse individuals and building executive functioning skills. We also work heavily in tech moderation and helping families navigate digital safety. Our therapists have a variety of specialities like working with individuals with ADHD, autism, related neurodiversity, addiction challenges, trauma (EMDR), anxiety and depression.
Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills and professional disposition. The owner of the practice is a fully licensed qualified supervisor and can offer clinical supervision at a reduced rate to provisionally licensed counselors. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, Aetna, Cigna, and out-of-pocket pay for our services. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

Full Job Description:
We are currently seeking one or two therapists to join our practice who are interested in serving children, adolescents, adults, families, and/or couples on a part time or full time basis. Therapists will: complete intake assessments, create treatment plans, maintain timely session notes using SimplePractice software, and provide therapeutic services using evidence-based practice models.
This is a W2 position and includes a modest benefit package. Therapists will have a flexible work schedule to accommodate school-aged children. There are also opportunities to work evenings and weekends. (shared office spaces may be used).
We are hiring licensed therapists specializing in evidence-based child therapeutic services including:
- Treatment of common childhood related diagnoses (ADHD, ODD, ASD, DMDD, etc)
- Child-centered or play therapy for children
- Attachment theory based approaches
- Behavioral parent training or family systems therapies
- Adlerian therapies
- Evidence based ADHD treatment approaches
Experience:
- Previous experience in mental health counseling with working with children and families, couples, teens and adults. If provisionally licensed, you must have internship experience working with children.
- Trained/educated in the use of evidence-based model(s).
- 3-5 years clinical experience preferred
- Recent graduates will be considered
- Therapists that are currently in-network with private and/or public insurance panels will be given preference.
