A leading food production and manufacturing company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sanitation Manager to oversee and manage sanitation operations across multiple production facilities. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices while maintaining a clean, safe, and regulatory-compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct workers in proper cleaning procedures of equipment and work areas according to company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Study daily production schedules and estimate sanitation worker hour requirements to maximize efficiency and complete job assignments.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet sanitation schedules while maintaining and improving product quality specifications.
  • Confer with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Collaborate with management and production personnel on sanitation challenges, recommending improvements in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to enhance sanitation standards.
  • Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions, reporting findings to senior management.
  • Manage procurement of sanitation chemicals and equipment, ensuring proper chemical dispensing and dilutions.
  • Maintain and update sanitation records.
  • Train new employees on Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations, including administering disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Address and document employee issues, communicating promptly with the Plant Manager and HR Department.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance department on daily equipment inspections/testing and ensure all equipment passes inspection before being released for production.
  • Oversee all aspects of the facility’s sanitation processes.
  • Conduct proactive sanitation inspections to ensure SSOP compliance and address issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience in food manufacturing sanitation management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sanitation leadership role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and other food safety regulations.
  • Experience managing sanitation programs across multiple locations is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
