About the Role
We invite you to join a very fast paced and growing small Family Primary Care Practice team at Be Well Family Care, as Medical Assistant in our Tempe and Phoenix clinics. We all work together as a team to ensure Be Well Family Care provides exceptional care. We are a full-service practice who see all ages from children to seniors, specializing in LGBTQ care and integrative health. This role reports to the Director of Practice Operations with a matrix reporting relationship with the Nurse Practitioners for all clinical related responsibilities.

We are looking for someone that has a background in medical administration, is proactive and anticipates the Nurse Practitioners needs. You are knowledgeable about the LGBTQ community and the health care needs of this population. This position is focused on patient intake, clinical administration, and provider support functions. Our MAs play a critical role by providing extraordinary customer clinical ensuring seamless patient care and help the team stay ahead in a fast-moving setting.
What You’ll Do:
- Available for varied shifts for a demanding schedule – 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, plus one Saturday per month.
- Be a patient care champion – Interact professionally and respectfully with patients, both in person and on the phone.
- Communicate with clarity – Provide patients with essential information regarding their care, including pre- and post-appointment instructions.
- Stay ahead of the game – Anticipate provider and patient needs while supporting a team of Nurse Practitioners.
- Keep everything running smoothly – Use top-notch organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Perform essential clinical tasks – Conduct routine and preventative medical procedures.
- Handle detailed patient intake – Accurately document patient history, vitals, and reason for visit.
- Manage administrative duties – Process authorizations, enroll patients in assistance programs
- Be a team player – Jump in to help with non-clinical office needs like filing, faxing, and answering phones, etc.
Required Experience
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct patient care including obtaining vitals, administering injections, venipunctures, assisting provider with office procedures, and documenting in the EMR.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Fluent in English
Preferred Experience
· Certified Medical Assistant
· Bilingual in Spanish
· EMR experience
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
· HIV, PrEP/PEP, and/or Gender Affirming Care (GAC) experience
