Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s facilities, ensuring all systems, equipment, and guest areas are in excellent working condition. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Repairs: Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, lighting, heating/air conditioning, appliances, and furniture.
- Guest Room Maintenance: Ensure guest rooms are fully operational, including fixing any defects such as broken fixtures, malfunctioning electronics, or damaged furniture.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms. Ensure cleanliness and operational integrity of these spaces.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and safety issues, including water leaks, electrical outages, and equipment malfunctions.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and order new parts or materials as necessary. Assist with tracking inventory and ensuring proper storage.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff. Ensure all maintenance procedures comply with local building codes, fire regulations, and other industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping, front desk, and management, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory usage. Report any major issues or needed upgrades to the Facilities Manager.
- Guest Interaction: Occasionally assist guests with issues that require technical expertise, such as adjusting room temperature, or fixing in-room appliances or equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or trade school training in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) is beneficial.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools and basic maintenance equipment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of maintenance issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
- Basic knowledge of safety codes and fire prevention practices.
- Ability to operate basic computer systems or maintenance management software.
Work Environment:
- This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-centered environment.
- You will be required to be on your feet for extended periods, lift, bend, and work in various areas of the hotel.
- Flexibility in working hours is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on hotel needs.
