The Human Resource & Business Office Coordinator plays a vital role in managing staff records, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and financial operations. This position ensures compliance with employment policies, supports recruitment and onboarding, oversees accounts payable and receivable, and facilitates financial reporting and budgeting support. Additionally, this role assists with the front desk and health office coverage as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources & Employee Relations
- Track staff attendance and hourly employee hours.
- Coordinate daily staff substitutions.
- Maintain and update employee records, including the Employee Handbook.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations concerns.
- Manage recruitment, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.
- Conduct first-day training and ensure background checks for all new personnel.
- Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, unemployment claims, and workers' compensation.
- Register and coordinate travel arrangements for staff attending off-site professional development.
- Prepare and maintain all new employee documentation and working agreements.
Business Office Operations
- Coordinate and facilitate payroll distribution.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor communication.
- Prepare bank deposits and support budgeting as needed.
- Manage purchasing, including creating and executing purchase orders.
- Handle school insurance policies, including liability, property, and workers' compensation.
- Assist with requisitions, inventory, and maintaining financial records.
- Prepare requests for payments and other financial documentation.
Reporting & Compliance
- Compile and prepare reports for stakeholders, including state compliance (STAR) and the School Board.
- Ensure proper preparation and distribution of all working agreements.
- Maintaining school and staff records.
General Office & School Support (as needed)
- Deliver and distribute school mail.
- Assist with the front desk and health office.
- Maintain an organized and tidy office environment.
- Attend professional development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Implement other responsibilities as assigned by administration.
Other Considerations:
- Some lifting and carrying may be required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Experience in a school setting or working with children (preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Broad secretarial background with experience in word processing, record-keeping, and computer proficiency.
- Competence in operating standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

Pay: From $41,500.00 per year
