What you will be doing:
Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Business Development Manager to join us in our mission to make brain monitoring easily accessible, interpretable, and actionable. You will serve in a critical role at the exciting phase of an early-stage start-up, guiding the highest level strategy and executing business development infrastructure and initiatives to sustain Beacon's growth. As Business Development Manager, you'll
work closely with the CEO, Chief of Staff, VP of Platform, and external KOL advisors on mission critical internal and external-facing initiatives. As a member of an incredible team of neurologists, research scientists, data scientists and engineers, you will fundamentally shape the Beacon's trajectory and the advancements in brain health. This role reports directly to the CEO.
What success looks like:
- Identify, design and execute partnerships between Beacon and potential clients
- Work with and influence teams to assess, conduct due diligence, negotiate and execute external opportunities, including meeting with key internal stakeholders and advisors
- Help shape corporate strategy with high visibility across the organization
- Work closely with leadership to refine and update business development goals to support our business strategy and objectives
- Proactively identify gaps in approaches used at potential industry partners and clients
- Lead or support negotiations of term sheets for all business development activity, in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Are a subject matter expert and thought leader in the industry, staying up to date on its evolving state
- Routinely research and source, identify, and send outbound emails to high-impact sales targets at relevant biopharma partners
- White paper drafting and other business materials (scientific, product, marketing, etc)
- Continually querying the Beacon DataStore for insights into biomarkers about therapeutics areas
- Manage Hubspot and building relevant dashboards
- Keeping track of business KPIs (time to close; customer success metrics)
- Analyze business intelligence and outside data sources and answer critical business prioritization decisions
What you will bring:
- 2 years of biopharmaceutical industry or industry-related business development experience
- deep technical, medical and/or business experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with a track record of success in driving high-value partnerships with industry counterparts as a leader
- 2 years of experience in strategy, business development or sales
- In-depth knowledge of the clinical trials process
- Able to build relationships with senior-level R&D and commercial executives at pharma organizations, enabling identification, development of and support for additional value-creation opportunities across their portfolio
- Comfort with basic programming and plotting techniques (e.g. SQL, Python, Julia, Matlab, Excel, etc)
- Entrepreneurial mindset and hustle. You are proactive, persistent, collaborative and comfortable with big asks
- Ready-to-learn mentality
- Strong writing and presentation skills with an exquisite attention to detail
- Ability to effectively negotiate and represent Beacon’s interests to a partner and gain agreement on decisions that are favorable to both parties
- Strategic thinker who possesses solid business judgement and the ability to identify and evaluate risk and opportunity at the scientific, development and regulatory levels
