QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Associates degree, majoring in courses of typing, business machines and office equipment. Must be accurate and a fast typist, knowledgeable in mathematics, with a good working knowledge of the English language with detail given to spelling and sentence structure. Experience and good working knowledge of medical insurance reimbursement. Must deal efficiently with people, both in person and on the telephone. Must be willing to take on new and challenging jobs as well as doing routine office work. Various office experiences helpful.
2.High school diploma/GED with experience at setting up typing such as billing, patient charts, graphs, columnar tabulation, letters, articles for printing, ie; brochures, pamphlets, etc. And generally employ the normal skills in office computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Be able to operate all office machines. It is expected that this person will have a working knowledge of insurance reimbursement and obtain financial and/or insurance information from patients. It is also expected that a good understanding of the functions and operations of the agency be demonstrated.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Types from rough drafts, or general instructions, technical reports, articles or addresses. Frequently requiring the assembling of additional information from sources which may be only generally designated and requiring familiarity with organization structure and process.
2.To help develop and maintain a patient billing system which will incorporate self paid, private public insurance. Patient contact in the form of answering phone, setting appointments, gathering intake information, taking messages, getting patients, gathering financial information from patients who are self pay to help determine patients ability pay and perform related work as required. These additional activities include but are not limited to:
- Handling work for the Executive Staff.
- Ordering and storing of supplies for office.
- Doing office inventory.
- Phone calls and messages
- Upkeep and typing of all handouts and documents
- Call patients to confirm upcoming appointments
- Monthly reports
- Mass Mailing
- Organizing and maintaining files
- Agency typing, memo and coping
- Pamphlet ordering and distribution
- Correspondence for all departments, including program reports, fiscal reports, charts and other material of non-routine nature.
- Greets callers in person and on telephone and either provides requested information or refers to appropriate staff member.
- Gives or mails out general information on agency services and programs, including brochures or other prepared material.
- Compose and type routine correspondence.
- Type patient folders and correspondence.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
