Beacon College is seeking an experienced and accomplished Faculty member to teach in its Mathematics Program. This pivotal role, based within the General Education Division, calls for a candidate with a robust background in teaching Mathematics at the undergraduate or secondary level coupled with a track record of innovation in curriculum development. Beacon College is located in the quintessential and comfortable southern city of Leesburg, Florida (population 27,000), 45 miles northwest of Orlando and an hour’s drive to both Florida’s Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. The College’s location in Central Florida offers residents and visitors easy access to Florida’s most popular attractions and theme parks, and provides an abundance of venues for the enjoyment of an active, but leisurely, lifestyle.

In the teaching arena, the successful candidate will deliver direct instruction and experiential learning opportunities to create an engaging educational environment. They will also monitor and assess student progress, provide substantive feedback, and work collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, student learning support and student success. Faculty load consists of five courses each during the fall and spring semesters. In addition, faculty are expected to engage in scholarship as defined by the Boyer model, and to provide service to the community.

Qualifications: A master’s degree from an accredited institution (doctorate preferred) with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics. The competitive candidate should have the proven capacity to innovate and lead curricular change in the arena of Mathematics with a record of teaching mastery across a diversity of learning profiles. Experience with the instruction of neurodiverse learners is preferred, and a teaching style and classroom presence that is flexible, accommodating, and supportive is a priority.
