Role
The primary purpose of this position of the Branch Manager is to assist Beacon Credit Union to live out our mission "Dedicated to Our Member's Financial Success." One of the primary means to achieve this end is to develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution. Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Ensures established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers. Ensures members/customers are promptly and professionally served.
Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employee's performance. Recognize employees who perform at a high level. Hold employees' accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior. Meet with each employee monthly to review previous month's performance, set goals for upcoming month's performance and develop plans to improve employee's performance. Ensure that the branch meets or exceeds sales and service expectations as established by the Credit Union. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long term objectives. Train and supervise branch staff, assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff. Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff through effective employee relations. Provide a thorough and timely annual performance evaluation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as a Loan Officer, processing and closing loans approved by the centralized lending department within established policies and limits. Ensures that branch achieves assigned loan production goal.
Ensures all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day. Oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists in resolving balancing problems. Ensures all branch capture activity is completed at the end of the business day.
Ensures members' requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handles customers' complaints. Ensures customers/members are informed of Company services and policies. Counsels customers regarding their financial needs and services requested.
Monitor closely industry trends in lending and deposit operations to feed research and development activities and assure that the company’s products, services and processes are remaining competitive. Manages and oversees expenses. Pursues cost-saving measures.
Knowledge and Skills
Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Supervisory experience. Proven sales experience. Two to Five years of banking experience.
Education/Certifications/LicensesA two college degree or a four year college degree preferred.
License Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site. Must renew registration each year and update when changes to name, address, etc. occur.
