Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a thriving chemical manufacturing company located in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Sage accounting software, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and some previous financial experience. Payroll processing experience is a plus. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Sage accounting software for financial data entry, reporting, and analysis.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations (preferred but not required).
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Assist with audits and tax filings as required.
• Perform other general accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with Sage accounting software is required.
• Prior experience in accounting or finance
• Knowledge of payroll processing is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
