Bankruptcy/Restructuring Associate Attorney

A top-tier Business Restructuring team at a top AmLaw firm is seeking a skilled associate with 2-7 /- years of experience to join its Chicago office. This is an opportunity to work on complex corporate restructuring transactions, including bankruptcy cases, distressed situations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and debt restructuring.

• Represent debtors and creditors in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

• Draft Chapter 11 filings, term sheets, disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, settlements, and asset purchase agreements.

• Assist in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings.

• Conduct in-depth legal analyses to assess restructuring implications.

• Maintain strong communication with clients, creditors, and stakeholders.
  
  

• 2-7 years of business restructuring experience, ideally in a Chambers-ranked practice.

• Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws, creditor rights, and restructuring strategies.

• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• J.D. from an accredited law school and Illinois Bar admission (or eligibility for admission).

• Clerkship experience with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court is a plus.
