Role Overview: A subsidiary of a global marketing group is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage and oversee the financial aspects of their marketing projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting costs associated with marketing initiatives to ensure that budgets are adhered to and financial records are accurate. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Tracking and Analysis:
Monitor and record project costs related to marketing initiatives, ensuring all expenses are accounted for accurately.
Regularly analyze project cost data, identifying any discrepancies, potential overages, or areas for cost-saving opportunities.
Transactions and Billing:
- Maintain billing records, ensuring that all invoices are received and properly posted to corresponding accounts.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable team to resolve unpaid billings.
- Coordinate with Account Executives to ensure project costs and create bills to be sent to clients
Collaboration with Marketing Teams:
- Work closely with marketing project managers and teams to understand the financial requirements of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure that all project costs (e.g., advertising, media buys, creative development, etc.) are tracked and allocated correctly.
Compliance and Audit:
Support the auditing process by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries related to marketing project costs.
Other Duties:
Recommend improvements to financial processes and systems to streamline project cost tracking and reporting.
Assist in develop quarterly and annual budgets.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2 years of relative accounting experience.
- GAAP knowledge.
Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze large sets of financial data.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project managers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
