Role Summary
We are looking for a Sales Tax Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at Beacon Hill. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our sales tax processes and requires a strong understanding of state and local sales tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with state and local sales tax regulations, maintaining accurate and timely preparation and filing of all sales tax returns.
- Process Review: Lead the initiative to review and enhance the organization's current sales tax processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and streamlining.
- Tax Law Updates: Continuously monitor and research changes in sales tax laws, making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance with new legislation or regulations.
- Record Management: Ensure accurate, complete, and organized records of all sales tax filings, payments, and communications.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present detailed sales tax reports for senior management, highlighting key findings, issues, and suggestions for process improvements.
- Process Automation: Proactively identify areas of the sales tax process that can be enhanced or automated to increase accuracy, reduce manual work, and improve overall compliance efficiency.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales tax administration or a similar role, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and ensure compliance.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations.
- Proven ability to research complex tax issues and resolve discrepancies.
