What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Improvement Specialist position at Natural Essentials?
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Process Improvement Specialist position is dedicated to identifying and implementing process improvements, including the development and refinement of procedures. The role will ensure procedures comply with regulatory standards (ISO, cGMP, and industry best practices). This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in new and existing operations and implement changes that drive continuous improvement. This individual will use Lean methodologies to lead improvement programs and train cross-functional teams. Serve as a collaborative agent for change within the organization to drive operational excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Write and develop technical work instructions, processes, and procedures for the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with cGMP and ISO guidelines.
- Ensure technical procedures comply with relevant regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols (e.g., ISO, OSHA, GMP).
- Observe and document new and current processes, procedures, and work instructions that guide manufacturing operations, ensuring that everything is well-documented and consistent.
- Use tools like flowcharts, process maps, and value stream mapping to visualize and analyze processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and processes and provide technical feedback to design (for product, ingredient or packaging) to improve standards and solutions.
- Work closely with inventory control, material management, production teams, quality assurance, and other departments to implement process changes, drive process optimization and operational excellence.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives, utilizing tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Analysis supporting operation improvements.
- Develop and deliver training in accordance with CPI programs, processes, procedures, tooling, and equipment.
- Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to improve operational capabilities.
- Develop clear, concise, and user-friendly documents that can be easily followed by production teams.
- Incorporate feedback from production teams and other stakeholders to refine and enhance procedures.
