What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building and Grounds Maintenance position at Beacon Recycling Inc?
Performs routine and extensive groundskeeping and building maintenance duties. The primary objective is to ensure the cleanliness, upkeep, and safety of the property grounds, facilities, streets, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct building maintenance repairs to maintain the physical condition of the buildings and prevent deterioration. This includes tasks such as painting and other necessary maintenance associated with building systems.
- Maintain the outdoor appearance by performing landscaping tasks, including cutting lawns, applying mulch / bark / rock, raking, planting, and trimming.
- Complete work orders promptly and safely, prioritizing emergency, on-call, make-ready, preventative, inspection, and routine repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Inspect the property regularly to identify areas for improvement or repairs, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Keep the work area and tools clean and organized at all times.
- Assist in keeping the property free of debris and rubbish.
- Ensure safe walking and driving conditions during winter weather by shoveling snow, plowing, removing ice, and applying ice melt as necessary.
- Must be available for immediate response during snow events, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective customers.
- Perform janitorial duties when necessary.
- Travel may be required, up to 25% of the time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This role is carried out both inside a shop environment and outdoors. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
