Description:
We are seeking a motivated and self-starting individual to join our logistics team as Customer Service/Inside Sales. This role is ideal for recent graduates in business, supply chain or logistics looking to launch their careers in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with opportunities for advancement. This person will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, coordinating dispatch operations, and supporting efficient fleet management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITILIES
- Primary point of contact for customer service including inquiries related to scheduling, deliveries, and dispatch needs.
- Respond to both emergency and non-emergency phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner, including after hours as needed.
- Dispatch operations by helping manage and coordinate the dispatch of our fleet of trucks, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling based on customer requirements and operational capacity.
- Address any issues or delays that arise during transportation, communicating promptly and regularly with customers and internal teams to manage expectations and solutions.
- Build and maintain strong, in-depth relationships with all our internal and external customers.
- Utilize software to maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, customer communications, and scheduling details
- Help develop, implement and track performance metrics
- Assist in all aspects of logistics within the company
- Foster and reinforce a culture of safety
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience in customer service and/or bachelor's degree
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship building skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to handle multiple tasks while staying organized
- Ability to proactively ensure adherence to local, state and federal guidelines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed on-site in a fast-paced, team-oriented, office and warehouse environment at our Muskegon facility.
