Metal Torcher

Torch/cut scrap metal of various sizes using an oxygen gas torch. Other duties include dismantling, sorting, and moving large metal items and pallets of material to meet customer specifications.

This position is Full-Time Hourly, 1st Shift, Mon-Fri starting at 7:00am.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using a torch, cut metal to customer specifications
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Clean up torch pit at the end of shift
• Work effectively and professionally with team members at all levels the organization
• Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner consistent with our mission statement
• Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding role that is primarily performed outdoors. You will be exposed to the elements and must be able to work comfortably and effectively in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

• Salvage yard or part disassembler a plus, but not required

Skills and Knowledge

• Self-Starter with a positive attitude who requires little to no supervision
• Must be able to meet all the physical demands of this position
• Lift 25lbs frequently and up to 80lbs as needed
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, squat, stoop, etc. for long periods of time
• Willing to learn and strictly follow all company safety procedures
• Reliable attendance
• Basic math skills, including counting and measuring
