As a Security Desk Officer at Beacon Rehab and Nursing Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and managing access to the facility, answering incoming calls, and maintaining a vigilant presence at the security desk.
Key Responsibilities :
Access Control : Monitor and control access to the nursing home premises, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the facility. Verify the identity of visitors, staff, and vendors.
Surveillance : Use surveillance equipment to monitor key areas of the nursing home, identifying and reporting any unusual activities or security concerns promptly.
Phone Operations : Answer incoming calls, assist callers with inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate departments or personnel. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while handling phone communications.
Emergency Response : Act as the first point of contact during emergencies or security incidents. Follow established protocols to respond effectively, including alerting appropriate personnel and emergency services.
Visitor Assistance : Provide assistance and information to visitors, ensuring they follow proper sign-in procedures. Escort visitors to designated areas as needed.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, incidents, and daily operations. Prepare incident reports as necessary.
Collaboration : Work closely with nursing home staff, including nurses and administrators, to address security concerns and coordinate efforts to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a security-related role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using basic office equipment, including phones and surveillance systems.
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures.
Working Conditions :
This position involves sitting for extended periods, monitoring screens, and occasional walking rounds within the facility. The Security Desk Officer may also be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
