Director - Residential Services

The Director of Residential Programs is responsible for assuring quality residential services, compliance with licensing and agency expectations. This position communicates to the Senior Director level regarding programmatic needs which includes staffing and fiscal resources necessary to ensure first class services and business practices are provided to residents. Position demonstrates a high level of integrity, a strong depth of knowledge regarding licensing guidelines and legislature surrounding Mental Health (MH)/Intellectual Disabilities (ID)/Autism (A) topics.

Qualifications

Master’s degree (preferred) and 3 years of leadership experience in the human services industry or

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 4 years of leadership experience in the human service industry or

High school diploma and 5 years of leadership experience in the human service industry.

Essential Functions

• Supervises assigned Program Coordinators
• Ensures that departmental outcomes are appropriate, diligently pursued and periodically reviewed for their continued effectiveness.
• Maintains current knowledge of licensing guidelines and legislation in the MH/MR/CY field.
• Reviews residential program performance against budget, licensing regulations, and agency policies/procedures.
• Assumes on-call responsibilities for assigned areas; shares responsibility.
• Communicates with funding agencies when a resident moves locations and/or when rate or support needs change.
• Communicates to Executive Direvtor the resources needed to assure appropriate services for residents.
• Monitors and ensures budget guidelines are met. Regularly reviews budget and expenses with Senior Director.
• Communicates programmatic, fiscal, and employee matters to the Senior Director on a timely basis.
• Proposes and/or participates in developing policy, procedural, or programmatic changes with peers, Senior Director and Executive Team to enhance the quality of services and employee engagement.
• Maintains active presence within assigned programs. Routinely attends areas Health Team and Clinical Team meetings.
• Promotes positive reputation of Keystone programs by acting to resolve concerns/complaints of families/guardians, neighbors, case management or funding agencies, as necessary.
• Consults with Senior Director and/or Director of Human Resources on non-routine matters involving fiscal and employee concerns.
• Attends scheduled administrative meetings. Holds regular staff meetings.
• Cooperates with other departments to promote and support agency programs and business strategies.
• Represents the agency at local, state and national association meetings and functions.

• Must be able to lift and transfer 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
• Must be able to climb and descend 20 stairs carrying 10 pounds
• Must be able to bend to retrieve an object at floor level 6-12 times hourly
• Must be able to crouch at the knees 6-12 times hourly
• Must be able to kneel on both knees
• Must be able to drive for a period of one hour 3-6 times daily
• Must be able to stand for a period of one hour 6-12 times daily
• Must be able to sit for a period of one hour 6-12 times daily
• Must be able to push/pull 10 pounds
• Must be able to grasp an object with at least one hand
• Must have at least 20/40 combined vision with or without corrective lenses
• Must be able to hear a normal spoken voice with or without hearing assistance
