Position: Quality Assurance Analyst
Location: Tallahassee, Florida 32399
Duration: 12 Months
Qualifications & Experience:
- One year of experience working in infectious disease surveillance and surveillance systems in the last five years.
- One year of experience working with electronic medical records using the Health Level 7 (HL7) messaging standard.
- One year of experience working with hospital medical records and records management systems.
- One year of experience performing ELR validation and quality assurance tasks.
Microsoft Office Experience:
- Two years of experience in the last five years working with the Microsoft Office Suite; including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Statistical Analysis Related Experience:
- One year of experience with a statistical analysis software package such as SAS or SPSS in the last five years.
- Two years of experience performing SQL queries and utilizing SAS to organize information into reports and interpret findings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and submit daily quality and field-level completeness review of all data stored in the ELR database in accordance with the industry and HL7 translation standards, as directed by the Department.
- Participate in weekly meetings with surveillance systems staff to document business requirements and system deficiencies, as directed by the Department.
- Daily, and at the direction of the Department, ensure onboarding of ELR, including establishing transport, reviewing test messages, validating messages, providing feedback to partners on message content and structure issues, and providing technical assistance or support.
- Respond daily (in writing or via phone consultation) to inquiries received through the ELR assistance mailbox, as directed by the Department.
- Provide daily consultation (in writing or via phone) to ELR data providers (hospitals and laboratories) regarding HL7 data submission standards and the Department s ELR submission requirements, as directed by the Department.
- Participate in weekly ELR meetings to document errors found and consult with the technical team on a resolution, as directed by the Department.
- Perform queries using SQL and produce and datasets of ELR data collected by the Bureau of Epidemiology, as directed by the Department.
- Maintain in a spreadsheet and distribution list the contact information for ELR data providers and their associated stage in ELR participation.
- Update the spreadsheet and distribution list weekly, as directed by the Department.
- Assist in data collection and analysis daily for disaster response, as directed by the Department.
- Monthly, and at the direction of the Department, attend national ELR calls or trainings, quarterly grantee calls, and other relevant national calls or trainings related to the implementation of ELR.
- Attend meetings to develop business requirements for the DCHP overall strategic effort for integration and interoperability of its systems and software, as directed by the Department.
