WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal Maître d for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our dining guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Grille Front of House team, creating a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests including logistic details as well as setting the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, making them feel comfortable and attended to
- Take and confirm dining reservations, manage waitlists, and assign tables based on guest preferences and party size
- Escort guests to assigned tables and provide menus.
- Assist the service team
- Ensure BCMR hospitality standards, including prompt and efficient service, are met
- Assist in the hiring, training, development and supervision of host/hostess
- Collaborate with Grille Manager to identify and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally,
- Relay guest orders and dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff, keeping them informed of any special requests.
- In partnership with the Grille Manager, monitor the dining room atmosphere, ensuring appropriate lighting, music volume, and overall ambiance.
- Be well-versed in the menu, specials, and beverage options to answer guest questions. Suggest beverages and specials.
- Optimize table turnover by coordinating with waitstaff to ensure efficient service flow.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with the waitstaff to discuss specials, table assignments, and any important updates.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of high-level dining experience
- Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and dining etiquette
- Leadership skills to guide and motivate waitstaff
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Compute basic arithmetic and mathematical calculations
- Strong administrative skills with a high degree of accuracy
- Organized and detail oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction
- Technical knowledge and competency in necessary systems and software:
- Microsoft Office, Open Table, Point of Sale system
