We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Packaging Designer to join our fast-paced dynamic team. This role will entail a balanced focus of 75% production work and 25% conceptual design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail packaging, branding, plan-o-grams (POGs), pallets, displays, and endcaps, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and a solid understanding of the CMYK printing process.

Core Responsibilities:

• Production Work (75%):
  • Develop and produce detailed packaging designs across various products ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand standards.
  • Manage and oversee the packaging production process, including mock-ups, shelf comparisons and prototypes, ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate packaging solutions into the overall product strategy.
  • Prepare die lines and artwork for print production, ensuring adherence to Pantone color specifications and CMYK processes.
  • Retouch, recolor and composite imagery as needed as well as write clear and concise render requests in timely manner
• Conceptual Design (25%):
  • Conceptualize innovative packaging and display design solutions that enhance brand visibility and appeal to consumers.
  • Create visually compelling plan-o-grams, pallets, endcaps and displays to maximize product impact in retail environments.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on design trends and consumer preferences, translating insights into design strategies.
  • Present fresh evolved design concepts to management and incorporate feedback to refine and finalize designs.

Skills and Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail packaging design with a strong portfolio showcasing both production and conceptual work.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• In-depth knowledge of Pantone color matching and the CMYK printing process.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with Asana, Salsify and ai would be a bonus

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $70,000 DOE

Actual base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and relevant job & industry experience.

Location:

This position will report to our fully remote Retail Art Director and will be working in either a fully remote position, or if based in Orange County, on a hybrid-flex schedule in our Santa Ana office (currently in-office on Tuesdays and working from home the other days of the week, but subject to change).
