POSITION SUMMARY: Guest/Facility Services Lead will have scheduled desk hours, cleaning hours and supervisor hours. Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of all of the Bear River Recreation Center.  Supervision of all Guest Service/Facility Attendants          

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Protects employees by maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Ensure all employees are trained on how to understand a SDS sheet and where the SDS manual is located.
  • Ensure each employee has the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before the start of their shift.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment on a set schedule. Submits a preventative maintenance report to the Manager.
  • Maintain and update a master calendar for scheduling all BRRC staff with attention to the Recreation Center’s needs/programs.
  • Maintains supply and inventory of all cleaning supplies.
  • Schedule employee tasks each morning and follow up to make sure tasks are completed on time.
  • Set a cleaning and disinfection schedule.
  • Ensure all of the employees in the department read and understand the Emergency Operation Plan and their respective roles in an emergency.
  • Maintains detailed and meticulously organized member account contracts/files.
  • Collaborate with the BRRC Event/Sales Coordinator, Recreation Center Maintenance Lead, and the Recreation Center Manager to ensure the appropriate staffing needs are met for the special events held at the BRRC.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and educational workshops.
  • Acquire approved program equipment and management of equipment inventory, in accordance with approved budget and program needs.
  • Shall be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and sanitation of the Bear River Recreation Center and related amenities, which consists of a gymnasium, fitness center, weight/cardio rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a snack bar and associated recreation amenities.
  • Shall be responsible for ensuring that all appropriate health and safety standards are maintained and that recreation facilities and amenities are clean and well maintained according to industry standards.
  • Inspecting and monitoring daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual operation systems in the Recreation Center.
  • Utilizes the event management booking systems and maintains daily and weekly communications to all departments about functions or activities within the premises or at our partner facilities available.
  • Assists with venue tours and site inspections for potential customers.
  • Provides general information to the community about BRRC programming and options.
  • Prioritizing and performing general maintenance and repair in the Recreation Center.
  • Performing a rotating seven-day/week work schedule and a periodic 24-hour/day on-call system.
  • Collaborate with the RC Event/Sales Coordinator with special events including but not limited to weddings, concerts, etc.
  • Preparing and maintaining necessary records and reports.
  • Assist in keeping accurate records of recreation costs, revenues, expenditures, etc.
  • Code all invoices to be turned in to accounting weekly and no later than the first of the following month.
  • Continuing job knowledge requirements in order to remain aware of current methods and procedures.
  • Maintain communication with accounting on status of account deposits, payments & balances.
  • Recommend appropriate charges for fee-based programs and maintain responsibility for facility fees collected, league fees, and fees collected for special recreation events. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Will oversee all Guest Service/Facility Attendants .

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must have a High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have     1     /years of related experience in point of sales.
  • Must have     2    /years of related experience in recreation and fitness.
  • Must have     2   /years of supervisory/managerial experience. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
  • Must provide or obtain CPR & First Aid certification within three (3) months of hire.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Experience and proficient in business software/computer programs including Excel, Word: Capability to learn to execute and navigate with Sales Agreements, Proposals, Property Management Systems and POS.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be flexible and available to cover shifts.
  • Must be able to work with Native American people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including the ability to interpret technical information.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task and remain calm under stress
  • Ability to anticipate and respect the needs and interests of others.
  • Knowledge of safe maintenance procedures and an ability to detect hazards and violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ability to maintain harmonious relations among staff and promote efficiency.
  • Able to use independent judgment in routine and non-routine circumstances, and in critical situations.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Computer control systems, ladders, and associated safety equipment, personal computers, two- way radios. Materials: Adhesives, cleaners, fuels, degreasers, grease, oils, other materials and chemicals associated with facility custodial maintenance as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is performed in an outdoor and indoor environment with exposure to a variety of adverse weather conditions and temperatures, slippery/uneven surfaces, electricity, noise, vibrations, dust, fumes,; public contact, working alone and as a member of a team; handling emergency situations and office work.

Physical activities include lifting and carrying (over 50lbs), pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, digging, repeated bending, climbing using both arms and legs, use of hands and fingers, hearing, verbally communicating, and operating motorized equipment. This position also requires sitting at a desk in close proximity to a computer terminal. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
