Job Description
BearCom is looking for an upfit installation technician line-lead to work with a line of technicians to strip and assemble Public Safety vehicles.
This will be as a lead or a support role within a team. Travel requirements may be for extended periods of time or frequent deployments with short stays in the home base local market.
Responsibilities:
- Training Up-fit Installation Technicians in designated lines.
- Oversee production and installation process within the assigned shop production line.
- Returning parts carts and unused parts to the warehouse/parts department and reviewing inventory-related matters once vehicle installation is complete.
- Inspect workmanship and quality control across various production stages.
- Managing shop lines and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency. Keeping installation technicians busy and productive.
- Perform Installation of Emergency Warning Equipment and complete knowledge of build process.
- Provide feedback on build-books, to pre-build and to the fab shop; to help improve productivity and quality.
- Notify management of personnel issues.
- Notify management of safety issues.
- Notify management if special tools, training or support are needed.
- Equipment being installed includes:
- Vehicle lighting, controls, sirens, various electronics, radios, antennas, GPS equipment, wire harnesses, center consoles, push bumpers & grille guards, partitions, seats, storage vaults, and much more.
- Equipment being installed includes:
- Dismantle the interior and exterior of new vehicles (seats, carpeting, flooring, dash and interior panels, headliners, headlights, and taillights)
- Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering, and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles.
- Maintain a safe, clean, orderly work area (entire shop line). Keep tools organized.
- Ability to assign tasks and work with a Team.
- Other tasks as assigned.
